Frequently Asked Questions

Do you follow Tripadvisor’s rules?

Yes. Everything we do is fully compliant with Tripadvisor’s guidelines. We never use fake reviews, incentives, or shortcuts. Our strategies are ethical and focused on genuine guest feedback.

Will I still own my Tripadvisor listing?

Yes. You will always retain full ownership of your listing. We are simply added as an authorised manager so we can carry out the work for you. You can remove our access at any time.

Can you create a Tripadvisor listing for me?

Yes. If your business is not yet listed, we can create a Tripadvisor page for you. The setup is included in your one-time onboarding fee. We handle the listing creation, optimise your profile, and make sure you are ready to attract reviews.

What do you mean by “heavy lifting”?

Running a hospitality business leaves little time for logging in, chasing reviews, or writing responses. During onboarding we complete the major setup work for you including optimising your listing, creating Canva templates, and setting up competitor monitoring. After that, for £75 per week, we continue to handle review responses, monitoring, and ongoing optimisation so you can focus on your guests.

Can I offer incentives for reviews?

No. Tripadvisor strictly forbids offering discounts, freebies, or rewards in exchange for reviews. Businesses that break this rule risk penalties or removal. We make sure every review request is ethical and compliant so you never need to worry.

What happens if I get a bad review?

Bad reviews happen to every business. Tripadvisor does not remove reviews simply because they are negative, but you can respond. A professional, thoughtful reply often reassures potential customers and shows that you care. If a review clearly breaks Tripadvisor’s rules, such as being offensive or fake, we can help you report it.

Can you remove negative reviews from Tripadvisor?

No. Tripadvisor only removes reviews that clearly violate their policies. The best approach is to respond professionally and encourage more positive reviews so the negatives carry less weight. This is included as part of our ongoing weekly support.

Who writes the responses to my reviews?

Our team writes them for you. Every reply is crafted in a warm and professional voice that matches your brand. You can approve them first or let us post directly on your behalf.

Can Tripadvisor penalise me for using your service?

No. Tripadvisor allows businesses to add authorised managers to their account. We work transparently within the platform’s rules, so your listing is always safe.

Do you only work with restaurants?

No. Tripadvisor covers a wide range of categories including hotels, cafés, bars, attractions, tours, spas, and more. If your business relies on bookings we can help.

How quickly will I see results?

Some businesses notice an uplift in reviews and engagement within weeks, while others see steady improvement over a few months. Tripadvisor rankings are influenced by review quality, quantity, and recency, so consistency matters. In some cases we have seen businesses move up within days, especially when their profile was incomplete or lacking recent reviews.

How much does it cost?

There is a one-time onboarding fee of £397. This covers everything needed to set you up for success, including profile optimisation, Canva templates, competitor analysis, and review strategy.

After the first month, the cost is £75 per week for continuous support. This includes responding to reviews, monitoring competitors, optimising your listing, and providing ongoing guidance.

There are no hidden charges and no long contracts.

Are you Tripadvisor?

No. HappyHospitaliti is an independent consultancy. We are not Tripadvisor, and we are not recommended, endorsed, or affiliated with Tripadvisor in any way. All Tripadvisor trademarks and logos remain the property of Tripadvisor LLC.

What if I suspect a competitor has posted fake reviews?

Unfortunately fake reviews do happen. Tripadvisor allows businesses to report reviews that appear fraudulent or that break their rules. If we believe a review is fake, for example if it describes services you do not offer or seems linked to a competitor, we will report it through Tripadvisor’s official system for investigation.

Tripadvisor will only remove a review if they determine it clearly violates their policies. We cannot guarantee removal, but we can make sure every suspicious review is flagged quickly and handled properly.
